MPD20 Product Overview

A heavy-duty, switchable magnetic handling tool designed to act as an "extra set of hands" in the shop. Rather than struggling to grip large, heavy, hot, or sharp sheet metal by the edges, this compact tool creates a secure, temporary handle directly on the flat surface of your workpiece.

Features a mechanical quick-release handle that turns the magnetic field completely on for a secure hold, and off for an instant, clean release.



Constant Magnetic Hold

The MPD20 uses a permanent magnetic base that stays engaged during use. To release, simply tilt or pull the tool away from the metal surface using the locking lever handle.



Solves the "Wingspan" Problem

Moving a 4x8 sheet of steel by yourself can be incredibly awkward and terrible for your back. By using an MPD20 (or a pair of them—one in each hand), you can place temporary "handles" anywhere on the sheet, gaining the leverage to safely maneuver wide materials that exceed your natural reach.

Use Case Scenarios


  • Tack Welding Alignment: Slapping the magnet onto a heavy steel gusset or flange to securely grip and push it into perfect alignment with one hand, while you hold your MIG gun or TIG torch with the other.

  • Dropped Tool/Scrap Retrieval: Reaching into hazardous, tight, or sharp spaces (like sumps, deep scrap bins, or inside heavy machinery) to retrieve dropped tools, bolts, or metal cut-offs without risking lacerations.

  • CNC Plasma/Laser Table Unloading: Pulling hot, sharp, freshly cut drop-offs or heavy skeleton scrap right off the cutting bed slats without waiting for them to cool down.

  • Sheet Metal De-Stacking: Plucking a single sheet of heavy steel off a tightly packed delivery pallet where you can't get your fingers underneath the edge.

  • Machine Feeding: Sliding or feeding heavy flat steel sheets into a brake press, shear, or band saw with control and precision.
